Cedar Stools

These four stools are made of well aged cedar, cut from a single rough construction beam. Each seat is reinforced with a pair of cedar inlays on the bottom with the grain running perpindicular to the seat itself. The joinery is all wedged through-tenons, with the mortises cut wider on the outside and the only glue used to keep the wedges from working out — the stools are held together purely through the physical connections between the parts. They appear to be very strong after months (now years) of occasional use.
