February of 2019 I began to paint the square spirals on canvas. First I’d paint on the unstretched canvas, then I made stretchers and stapled or tacked the canvas to the stretchers. This first attempt is pretty large, almost eight feet tall, an abstraction of my friend Emily Kenny. The canvas was painted black, then colors applied.
