An interesting experiment in color and the interplay of layers of different size spirals. From a distance, the image of my wife is pretty low-key and neutral. Up close, there’s a pretty spectacular spectrum of brilliance. Red, yellow, blue, black, white painted on paper over a gray acrylic ground. I’m pretty attracted to all aspects of this painting – the patterns emerging from the darks, the very abstract and low-resolution image of Linda’s head literally rocketing in to fill the image, the abstraction of the thing, the narrow border. It all starts to work, I think.
